Ph.D. program in Quantum Technologies
Are you keen to begin a research career in quantum technologies? The Ph.D. Program in “Quantum Technologies” aims at promoting a novel scientific awareness based on interdisciplinary skills useful to the development of quantum devices and technologies. Active since 2018, the Ph.D. program is led by the “University of Naples Federico II” in collaboration with the University of Camerino and with the National Research Council. Other prestigious Universities are planning to join the PhD Program in the near future.
Courses are held in Napoli, Firenze and Camerino on the following topics: Fundamental of Quantum Mechanics, Quantum information, Quantum optomechanics, Superconductivity, Superconducting quantum devices and Superconducting Qubits, Quantum effects in Nanoscience, Analysis, optimization and control of electromagnetic circuits and systems, Quantum networks and communications, Photonic systems for quantum communications, Atomic interferometry, Quantum simulations, Generation and characterization of quantum optical states, Quantum communication protocols.
General information about the Ph.D. Program is available at the following links:
Applications open yearly. Keep posted about the official calls for the Ph.D. program at UNINA in News. For further information on how to apply and possible Ph.D. topics within our group, please contact us.
Master Degree in Quantum Science and Engineering
The Master Degree in Quantum Science and Engineering (QS&E) aims at preparing the new generation of quantum scientists and engineers. All courses will be held in English and experimental courses will take place in top class labs available at UNINA and in international companies collaborating with UNINA and participating to the educational project. The revolution promised by quantum technologies requires a wide scientific community with multidisciplinary skills. Training will have to ensure the functioning of the entire supply chain from basic research to the competitiveness of Italian high-tech companies, with an enhancement of people with key skills, startups capable of transferring and implementing new technologies and companies capable of integrating quantum technologies into systems and services.

STMs COST
As part of the COST Action SUPERQUMAP, we are willing to host visiting researchers (Ph.D., post-doc, researchers, professors) participating to the action through Short-term scientific missions (STSM). STSMs are visits of researchers based in a home institution in a COST participating country to a host institution in another COST participating country or to a formally approved host institution in a non-COST country with the aim of contributing to the scientific objectives of the Action.
The purpose of these visits is to establish novel collaborations, work on a jointly authored article, to learn or use a new technique or research method available in our labs, to work on a joint research proposal or any other activity linked to the objectives of the Action. Aurora Excellence Fellowship program for visiting Master and PhD students
Our group is part of the Aurora European University of Alliances and is willing to host Master and Ph.D. students in the frame of the Aurora Excellence Fellowship program, an internship to enhance scientific collaboration and exchange in the fast-developing field of quantum science and technology between three of the nine universities that build up the Aurora European Universities Alliance: Universität Innsbruck the University of Naples, Federico II or the Palacký University Olomouc. We are looking for enthusiastic and talented students who want to join an international team of researchers and deeply delve into quantum physics and have the fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable skills in experimental superconducting quantum technologies and devices, and in superconducting quantum computing. More information about the Aurora Excellence Fellowship can be found at the link below.
